About the project
YOUTH RISE – Reduce Anxiety, Improve Literacy, Strengthen Resilience, Engage in Action is a project that aims to support young people in understanding climate change, building climate literacy and resilience, and developing meaningful ways to engage with environmental challenges.
The project recognises that climate change is not only a question of knowledge, but also of emotions, connection with nature, creativity and participation. YOUTH RISE therefore explores holistic and engaging approaches to climate education that create space for young people to learn, reflect, express themselves and develop their own perspectives.
At the heart of the project is the Head • Heart • Hands (3H) approach, which brings together knowledge, emotional connection and creative practice.
Through this approach, the project has developed a set of educational resources for young people and those who work with them, including the YOUTH RISE Educational Programme, a Handbook, Activity Cards, a mobile application, evaluation tools and additional educational resources.
The resources combine interactive discussions, experiential and outdoor learning, creative expression, biodiversity exploration and participatory activities. They are designed to make climate education accessible, engaging and relevant, while supporting young people in developing climate literacy, critical thinking, emotional awareness, creativity and confidence.
YOUTH RISE brings together partner organisations from Serbia, Croatia and Poland, working collaboratively to develop, test and share approaches that can support climate education and youth engagement in different learning and community settings.
